Chapter Six

The faint sound of a phone ringing caused Gage to open his eyes. He glanced over at Marina and found her still tucked into his side. He wasn’t sure what time it was, but he knew that they’d had one hell of a night. He didn’t know what the future held for either of them, but he did know one thing—she would remember this night. He took it as his own personal mission to make her climax as many times as she could, and the last count was five, about an hour ago.

“Hey,” he murmured, nudging her. He felt horrible waking her, but it was her cell phone ringing. Someone back home was trying to reach her.

“Hmm…” she mumbled against his chest. He reached over and grabbed her phone from the nightstand.

“Favorite bitch is calling you,” he chuckled, glancing at the screen.

Her eyes flew open as she snatched the phone from his hand.

“Hello?” she greeted them. She blew her hair out of her face, trying to move the unruly strands. “Hey, I just woke up.”

He watched as she sat up more in the bed and readjusted herself, taking the sheet with her to keep her covered. For a brief moment, he thought of tugging the sheet down to expose her breasts. It was a travesty to keep them covered. They had easily become his favorite part of her. Memories of the way she gasped when he sucked her breasts deep into his mouth came to mind. He could feel the stirring in his cock and knew he needed to switch his train of thought.

“You need privacy?” he asked softly, trying to keep his voice low. He sat up to leave, but she grabbed his arm and shook her head. She held the phone away from her ear. He could hear the screeching coming from the phone. He released a chuckle, assuming it was a close friend. He laid back against the pillows and threw his arm across his face. He knew that their time was winding down.

He was no stranger to one night stands, but there was something about her that caused him to want more. He wanted to explore this thing between them.

“Well, I took your advice,” she admitted shyly to her friend. His interest peaked, but he remained still, not wanting to appear as if he was paying attention. “He’s got a beard.”

He waited for her to continue, curious as to what she thought of him. He thought it odd that she would lead the conversation with the hair on his face. Once leaving the Army, he swore he wouldn’t ever shave his face again, hating the extra routine. He’d gotten so used to his beard and its maintenance, that he could never go back to a bare face.

Real men grew beards, he thought with a laugh. He sat up from the bed and looked for the hotel phone. He would order them breakfast since they missed dinner last night. Marina’s quick intake of breath caused him to glance over at her.
